Five Skins is a nonprofit interdisciplinary arts organization combining classical performance with other art forms. We specialize in non-traditional performances incorporating theatre and dance, curated live film scores, and original film productions. Our music extends beyond the classical repertoire into free improvisation and folk music.

Our name is inspired by the architect, ecologist and painter Friedensreich Hundertwasser. It represents the five layers of being that connect us every day: our skin, clothing, home and family, society and the Earth itself.

Five Skins was founded in 2019 by co-artistic directors Daniel Goldblum and Dominyka Šeibok. Daniel is a bassoonist, composer and filmmaker, and Dominyka is a flutist, dancer and painter. Both are accomplished instrumentalists who seek to expand the boundaries of traditional performance practice while honoring their musical heritage and outstanding artworks of the past. As educators, they work with the Crescendo Summer Institute in Hungary, the HOLA Intergenerational Orchestra, and Sierra Canyon School to nurture the creative development of their communities in Los Angeles and abroad. Their upcoming productions include a live silent film score for the Wende Museum of the Cold War, and a live film about Hundertwasser and green architecture across cultures. They’ve collaborated previously with the American Cinematheque, the Pico Union Project, the American Institute of Architects, and the Hundertwasser Foundation.
